The PwC Scholarship helps give young Kiwi talent the best start possible by providing financial support during university, a mentor and a paid Summer Internship. The scholarship is an opportunity for students to build skills, knowledge and relationships that will benefit them for life. Check out the PwC scholarship website for more on this year’s campaign. What does the PwC Scholarship include? · $7,000 towards your university fees and course related costs over the course of your degree · a PwC staff member to mentor you during your study · a paid Summer Internship to develop the foundation for your career · access to business networks amongst the best and brightest minds in New Zealand at our social and scholarship events · the opportunity to learn about what we do behind the scenes, so you can choose the career path that best suits you. To be successful, a student’s application should show that they meet the following eligibility criteria: · Applicants should have an alignment between their choice of study and our business areas, which include Assurance, Deals, Consulting and Financial Advisory Services – Tax, Private Business and Legal. Conjoint degrees are also appropriate. Recommended degrees are, commerce/business, law, property, engineering, computer science, bachelor of arts, information systems, digital design and more. · Applicants should highlight their leadership ability with any leadership roles they’ve had both at school and in the community. This includes Head Boy/Girl, Prefect, and team captain and team coach roles. · Applicants should have a positive attitude, problem solving abilities and willingness to learn. · Applicants should have excellent grades across all subjects at school. While grades are important, it is only one of the areas we look at. We look for people with strong personal skills, leadership ability and those who are clearly passionate about something. · Applicants should highlight their career goals and motivation. · Applicants must be able to demonstrate they have the ability to structure and manage their time – part time work, sports training, volunteer work, or long term hobbies are all examples of this. · Applicants should be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident. · Applicants should be a final year student at any secondary school in New Zealand.
